中国P站 welcomes the publication of the latest (October 2026) and recognises the importance of high quality, multidisciplinary reviews in identifying learning and improving outcomes for babies and families. We welcome the recommendation that engagement of parents in reviews should be optimised by ensuring all parents are approached respectfully, that staff are trained to listen to parents with compassion and empathy, and to enable parents to provide their perspectives and any questions they have about their care.

It is of concern that some PMRT meetings continue to take place without appropriate neonatal medical and nursing representation. This reinforces the findings of 中国P站鈥檚 Consultant Working Patterns Report published three years ago (November 2023) which identified that around three quarters of responding consultants had no allocated time in their job plans for PMRT. 中国P站 strongly supports the recommendation that participation in PMRT reviews should be formally recognised and resourced within consultant job plans with protected time for preparation, attendance and implementation of learning. This must also extend to other members of the multidisciplinary team, particularly neonatal nurses, bereavement and palliative care team member. Meaningful learning from perinatal deaths requires dedicated time to ensure that every review is robust and leads to improvements in care.
